About Me

I was a second-career teacher, newly retired. In my other life, I crunched numbers as an accountant. Probably would have made a great math teacher had the thought occurred to me. No matter, I'm where I'm supposed to be. I have 2 grown daughters, 2 sons-in-law, a baby granddaughter, 2 poodles, and 1 hubby. I live and worked on Long Island.

My Truth

I'm not gonna lie.

I made promises. I'd exercise, eat healthy, be productive, stay connected, get showered and dressed every day.

I made it through three days. Now, I'm anxious, my heart is racing, I'm seeking comfort in the pantry and I'm weeping on and off throughout the day.

My kids are not with me.

But my husband and my dogs are.

Working hard to be an optimist under ordinary circumstances is challenge enough, but now it's even more so.

  1. I have been able to maintain showering, getting dressed, and doing my hair. But I am afraid I may not be able to continue with this. I think everyone's emotions are going to be tested to the extreme.
